Get It Together…Or Not

Today was a rough one for the most part, but there were a couple of major good points. Left Peachland this morning and made it through Kelowna okay enough. Then, about half an hour before I got to Vernon I had to pull over and try to get myself together. When I thought I was good, I hopped back in…and cried the rest of the way to town. This is my “get it together” time:

Vernon was awesome when I got there: I finally got to meet our friends Ryan and Megan Bentson (refresher: they are the couple who we supported during their stay in Toronto. Ryan finally got his lung transplant this February). Meeting them was so much fun, but of course there was a huge piece missing: Joey. Hence the reason I was so upset prior to actually getting there. Couple that with the fact that I’ve been feeling majorly overwhelmed lately and it makes for not a good headspace. Anyway, I was so happy to finally meet them:

Check out that scar! Chicks dig it. Ryan said he has a perma-grin since his transplant. Can you blame him? It’s kind of contagious.

Then I drove a little farther and saw some goats. They crack me up:

The bike wheel is for rolling up food along a pulley. Hilarious.

Finally, I made it to Tory and Karen’s. Carson was pretty excited to see me, which was cool. It was tough to gage whether number 9 was happy. He didn’t scream, so I’m choosing to take that as a compliment.

Tonight is definitely an ativan night.
